Das Portal FarbenKompass ist das neue, zentrale Informationsangebot zum Thema Farbe im World Wide Web.

Als in dieser Form einzigartiger Wegweiser wird es Ihnen helfen europaweit den Überblick zu bewahren und vom grundlegenden Fachbuch bis zur besonderen Ausstellung, vom nächsten Workshop bis zur letzten Nachricht aus der Industrie die richtige Information zu finden.

Kritisch, konzernunabhängig und sachkompetent: dieses digitale Informationszentrum vereint wissenschaftlich fundierte Recherche und lesbare Publizistik.

Natürlich kann ein Projekt in derartigen Dimensionen nur kontinuierlich wachsen; "abgeschlossen" hingegen wird es nie sein. Insofern ist es ein für Beiträge offenes Work-in-progress; der FarbenKompass inspiriert also den und verdankt sich dem Dialog mit allen, die ein akademisches oder professionelles Interesse an "Farbe" in ihrer ganzen Bandbreite haben.

Entsprechend positive Resonanz bekamen wir bereits: auf der "Farb Info '04", auf der FARBE in Köln (April 2005), zu der die Website offiziell online ging, oder auf dem 10. Kongress der International Colour Association (AIC) im spanischen Granada.

In diesem Sinne freuen wir uns auf weiter, möglichst lebhafte, lebendige Reaktionen aus der europäischen Farben-Branche.

The website ColourCompass is the key information resource on the world wide web for everything to do with colour.

This unique guide will help you to keep abreast of all things European, and allow you to find all you need to know, from seminal literature to that special exhibition, from the next workshop to the latest news from the business world.

Critical, independent of commercial interests, reliable: this digital Information Centre combines rigorous research and readable journalism.

We do not need to emphasize that a project on such a scale can grow and develop only gradually; and it will never be "completed". In so far ColourCompass is an open work-in-progress; and this is also why it inspires, and thrives through, the dialogue with everyone who may take an academic or professional interest in "Colour" in the broadest sense of the term.

It gives us pleasure to quote the positive feedback we received e. g. on the "Farb Info" colloquium 2004, on the Trade Fair FARBE (Cologne, April 2005), which has also seen ColourCompass's official launch, or on the 10th Congress of the International Colour Association "AIC Colour 05" in Granada, Spain.

May we therefore extend a warm welcome to any suggestion or comment which will reach us from the Colour community: after all, this information resource is what we all want it to be, and the more actively you join in the more lively it will be.
